When knowing why isn’t enough

Because why is history, how is change

Strategic, evidence-based psychotherapy and clinical hypnosis for lasting change

Are you highly self-aware, consider yourself emotionally intelligent and deeply allergic to the typical corporate wellness language? You've tried therapy, read the self-help books and explored every tool you could find. Yet somehow, you keep ending up in the same patterns, wondering why change doesn't last.

Therapy doesn't have to feel like sitting under fluorescent lights talking about your childhood for ten years. Sometimes you need a fresh perspective, practical tools and someone willing to gently hold up a mirror to your blind spots, and then evolve through them with you.

Get ready for an adventure leading to lasting change with Liminal Therapy.

Liminal (adj):

The transitional inbetween space in therapy where you have left an old way of being behind, but have not yet fully stepped into the new. It is a threshold of deep personal transformation; holding the ultimate potential for growth, healing and self discovery.

Your therapist

Hi, I'm Maz and Liminal Therapy is my practice. I'm for curious humans; people who don't fit neatly into boxes and don't particularly want to. I like to do things a bit differently and in a personalised way so you feel connected to your therapist and so that the experience feels more like an adventure than a chore.

Whether you're changing careers, relationships, identities, countries or the entire direction of your life, therapy with a solid strategy can help you navigate the unknown without losing yourself. I've been there, and I've found that this approach gets to the root of understanding what patterns you're running, not what 'treatment' you need to dull your chaos.

What we might work on together

  • Recognising patterns that keep you stuck in the same place

  • Understanding how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are driven

  • Changing habits that no longer work for you

  • Quietening the inner critic and strengthening your own voice

  • Breaking cycles of overthinking, avoidance, people-pleasing or self-sabotage

  • Building practical skills for managing emotions and difficult situations

  • Understanding what is within your control — and what isn’t

  • Communicating more clearly and setting boundaries

  • Changing patterns that are affecting relationships

  • Moving from knowing what you want to change to actually doing something differently

  • Working through transitions, uncertainty or feeling stuck

  • Exploring the patterns beneath the problem, rather than just talking about the problem

  • Using counselling, psychotherapy, strategic coaching and, where appropriate, hypnosis to support meaningful change

Sometimes the goal isn't to understand yourself more. You may already understand yourself. It's about figuring out what to do differently.

What clients say

Two people are forming a heart shape with their arms and holding hands, smiling at the camera. They are outdoors in a grassy area during dusk, with other people, a bicycle, and picnic items visible in the background.

Having stepped out of my comfort zone and trusting the process, I feel like the next part of my life can continue with a weight lifted and a whole new perspective. It’s life changing.

— Former client

Thank you for working with me, giving me an alternative perspective, and also keeping it informal and light. I really appreciate the practical and strategic work that’s already making a difference after one session and I actually had fun!!
